Must watch: Cody LaPlante skis a custom park through a real Western ghost town

In California, right between Lake Tahoe and Mammoth, lies a true remnant of the American Wild West: the Bodie ghost town. The old mining town rarely sees significant snowfall, but with the insane season that California has so far, this year it lies under a thick blanket of white. And that was all California-born skier, 15-year-old Cody LaPlante, needed for inspiration.

LaPlante, with the help of Red Bull, worked with the Bodie Foundation—a non-profit which helps preserve Bodie—to build features throughout the town and film a truly unique edit. Check it out, above, as well as some photos from the shoot, below.
