The point of view (POV) style of shooting videos can be hit or miss. But if the camera is planted on Giray Dadali’s helmet, the clips are going to hit. You can bet the farm on that. One of our favorite freeriders for years, Dadali is a professional skier and engineer based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. He’s journeyed around the world and back again, from explorations in Turkey to deep pow in Hokkaido, Japan. But don’t let the extensive travel history fool you, he’s done his fair share of exploring Utah’s Cottonwood Canyons as well. If you’ve spotted a skier tossing a pristine flat 3 under the Wildcat lift at Alta with J Skis on his feet, chances are it was Dadali.
You might also find him roaming the backcountry with a pair of Daymaker Touring Adapters, a device he created several years ago that makes touring in an alpine ski setup easy and efficient. (They released a new pin boot adapter recently. Check it out here.) Dadali captured these epic POV shots below in the backcountry last winter. His descents are nothing short of mesmerizing, taming steep tree-filled faces and massive features. There might even be a natural 7 somewhere in this video. You’ll have to watch to find out.
