Sammy Carlson is one of the most prolific skiers in the history of the sport. He’s also one of the hardest workers. Year after year, Sammy has churned out projects that make you question how exactly he does what he does. How did he stall out in the middle of that rotation? How does he bounce off a quad pillow line with such ease? How did he make it down that spine without wrecking? How did he… you get the point.
His most recent project, “KAMASE,” (which is Japanese slang for ‘go kill it,’) is no different. Like the rest of us, you’ll probably pause, rewind, rewatch and still be left wondering how he pulls it all off. The comp jockey turned freeride guru is joined by fellow rippers Vinzenz Keller, Todd Ligare, Yu Sasaki, and Yoshiya “Bull” Urata on this worldwide journey.

See Sammy Carlson adventure to the high mountain peaks of Alaska and British Columbia to push the boundaries of what is possible deep into the mountains. This backcountry terrain proved to be the perfect canvas for Sammy to push the limits of skiing. Joined by his friends Vinzenz Keller, Todd Ligare, Yu Sasaki and Yoshiya “Bull” Urata, the crew spent the winter of 2022/23 in some of the world’s most remote locations.
