There’s something beautiful about seeing art created years ago in places its authors never imagined it would be. It’s why we got a huge kick out of seeing Todd Ligare ski bottomless deep powder in his edit, Hallways, over gritty New York samples and old-school rhymes. We like the Wu Tang Clan, in a basement in Staton Island in the ’90s cooking up this track saying, “You could really rip to this.”

But that’s the beauty of modern ski flicks—the music never had skiing in mind, but it works anyway. Ligare’s flowy skiing and laid out backflips meld perfectly with Brady Perron’s editing skills and the RZA’s rolling keys to make an edit that’s more than the sum of its parts. Check the Rhime.
