Earlier this month, skiers from around the world migrated south to New Zealand for the inaugural Jossi Wells Invitational. The event was held at Jossi’s home mountain, Cardrona Alpine Resort, and is set to continue annually. For those who missed out on the slew of photos and videos that came out day-of, we have good news: Jossi and co. just unveiled a brand spankin’ new edit highlighting all of the action.
“I’m very humbled and honored to have the opportunity to throw this event for all the riders and the spectators,” Jossi said of his contest. “It all went off without a hitch – perfect day, perfect jump, and the riders all threw down.”
James “Woodsy” Woods came in 1st place, throwing a switch triple 1440 octograb. Jackson Wells came in 2nd and Noah Morrison rounded out the podium, taking 3rd.
“I’ve had my sights set on the switch trip 14 octo for a while now,” said Woodsy, “Obviously a massive thing for me in my skiing is to keep progressing. I’ve always put a lot of weight onto the grabs and positions of my tricks, so rather than just doing the trick I want to do the most outrageous thing I can.”
With this year in the books and next year’s competition to look forward to, congratulations to both the athletes and those who helped organize such a successful competition.
