After nine years spent making high-end streetwear, Jiberish is adding technical outerwear to its line for the first time. While this may seem like a long time coming, given Jiberish’s deep ties to the snowsports world, the timing should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with Jiberish’s craftsmanship, quality and attention to detail. Jiberish’s Pete Drago notes, “We have always been asked why we didn’t do outerwear and the truth is that we never saw a need to. But as the streetwear landscape changed, we started to see the opportunity to create a line that merges our life in the city and our life in the mountains. We don’t do things half-ass, so when we decided to do outerwear, we knew it had to be unlike anything in the marketplace and within our brand’s aesthetic.”
The company has spent the last 18 months doing research and development on the line, which features Swiss Schoeller and Japanese fabrics, taped seam sealed construction, and waterproof ratings of up to 20k mm. The inaugural Grand Cru Outerwear Collection will be available at Jiberish boutiques and other retailers in October.
