Short film from The North Face captures Alaskan sublimity

You know, all that magical skiing you see out of Alaska every year isn’t quite as magical you think. There’s a massive process involved that not everyone decides to showcase, leading many to believe it’s all glitter and gold out there. But this release from The North Face—titled Due North—takes a different route and tells all through eight minutes of crisp HD footage and passionate narration.

The video follows The North Face athletes Fraser McDougall and Roland Morley Brown as they travel to the Chugach Mountains, trudge their way up through gnarly terrain and finally find powder way high up. And, as a bonus, these guys further prove that skiers and snowboarders can get along; McDougall rides two planks while Brown rides one.

We always expect great stuff out of The North Face and its stacked team, but this release truly goes way above and beyond.
