It’s June 20, folks. On this day in history, in 1214, the University of Oxford received its charter; in 1840, Samuel Morse patented his telegraph; and in 2016, it’s the summer solstice, marking the longest day of the year. Fun fact: For the first time in nearly 70 years, the summer solstice and June’s full moon land on the same day. I.e. it’s prime time for activities. Shred all day, then rock by moonlight all night long. All of this stirs good reason to celebrate, and celebrate The North Face has.
In recognition of today’s celestial event, The North Face and Sherpas Cinema have released Max Your Days. The nearly five-minute-long short film showcases pure British Columbian goodness, from skiing and snowboarding, to skateboarding, to mountain biking, to kayaking, climbing, BBQ-ing, wake-skating, cliff jumping, surfing, prop-plane flying and so on, all packed into a 24-hour span. It’s the proverbial “best day ever,” captured in classic Sherpas form. In the words of The North Face, they’ve shown the explorer in all of us, “how to do summer right by squeezing adventure into every last minute of sunlight.”
The short film follows The North Face athletes David Carrier-Porcheron, Johnny Collinson, Ian Macintosh, Tom Wallisch, Cedar Wright and Alex Johnson through beautiful BC. Skier and stuntman extraordinaire Rory Bushfield also makes frequent appearances, skiing, boating and piloting his plane.
We’re certain this will inspire you to get outside today. Share this post with your adventure buddy n’ get after it.
