WITH NEW RESORTS AND ADDED SKIER DAYS, THE MULTI-RESORT PASS MAKES BIG MOVES FOR 2017-18
EVERY RED-BLOODED RIPPER fantasizes about embarking on multiple ski trips each winter or maybe even checking off as many world class resorts as possible in a single season. Since the debut of the Mountain Collective Pass in 2012, powder chasing across the globe has become a whole lot easier, and a few noteworthy updates make the 2017-18 offering juicier than ever.
Newcomer resorts Sugarbush, Vermont and Snowbasin, Utah are joining the pass as full partners for the upcoming season. Sugarbush, located in Vermont’s Mad River Valley, features over 4,000 skiable acres spread across six peaks (including the iconic steep skiing off of Castlerock), making it one of the largest ski areas in New England. Located an hour’s drive from Salt Lake City, Snowbasin serves up over 3,000 skiable acres and 3,000 vertical feet; the ski area is also set to debut the new high-speed Wildcat six-pack chair (replacing an old, slow triple), which will dramatically enhance mid-mountain access.
Also new for 2017-2018, Mountain Collective passholders will receive twice the amount of days on-mountain at destinations previously packaged together; this includes Alta and Snowbird, in Utah’s Little Cottonwood Canyon, and Sunshine Village and Lake Louise, in Alberta’s Banff National Park. Pass-holders can now look forward to enjoying two days at each of these world-class resorts, for a total of eight between the four.
The pass, which costs $489, gets you two days of skiing at each of the 16 participating partners: Alta Ski Area, Aspen Snowmass, Sunshine Village, Coronet Peak/The Remarkables (NZL), Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Lake Louise Resort, Mammoth Mountain, Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Snowbasin Resort, Snowbird, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, Sugarbush Resort, Sun Valley, Taos Ski Valley,Telluride Ski Resort and Thredbo Alpine Village (AUS). The pass also provides two days of skiing, but not the full range of benefits, at global resorts like Valle Nevado in Chile, Chamonix in France and Hakuba Valley and Niseko United in Japan.
With the addition of Sugarbush and Snowbasin and the dividing of the Little Cottonwood Canyon and Banff National Park ski areas, the Mountain Collective pass provides 32 days at 16 full-partner locations. With 50-percent off lift tickets for additional days (beyond the two included at each resort) spent at Mountain Collective destinations, special lodging deals of up to 25-percent off and zero blackout dates, a complimentary one-year Protect Our Winters membership and $99 passes for children 12 and under, this pass is tough to beat. If you’re anything like us, you likely spend the months of August, September and October mapping out your desired worldwide skiing adventures.
