Whistler Blackcomb recently hosted its 10th annual Deep Winter Challenge, a contest in which photographers submit slideshows of their best work for a shot at $5,000. As usual, the competition was fierce, but in the end there could only be one winner: Guy Fattal. He was born and raised in the hills near Jerusalem, Israel, but ventured to Whistler last season to experience a new lifestyle and capture as many breathtaking photos as possible. Clearly, he made a wise decision, and his winning slideshow, found above, is all you need to see to believe it.
In second place was Whistler native Michael Overbeck who won $2,500, followed by Alric Ljunghager, a member of The Bunch ski crew from Sweden who took home $1,500.
Congratulations to Fattal, Overbeck and Ljunghager for their impressive work, as well as Whistler Blackcomb for hosting on of skiing’s most creative and unique contests.
