In ski photography, there’s one name that is synonymous with blower pow and timeless freeze frames—and that’s Lee Cohen. Since rolling through Salt Lake City, Utah, on a ski trip in 1978, the photographer has called Alta Ski Area his home mountain, enjoying the bountiful bluebird days and fresh snow that adorn its peaks. Over a four-decade career, Cohen has been published countless times and has become one of the most influential photographers in the industry, all while raising Sam Cohen, his son, a professional skier and one of his favorite athletes to shoot.
