Saturday, Mr. PK Hunder took top honors at the 2013 Jon Olsson Invitational in Åre, Sweden. Rounding out the podium were Henrik Harlaut and Espen Bergh, in second and third respectively.
The format during finals was as follows: Four runs per skier, with the best two tricks counting towards the final score. PK’s winning stunts were a switch double cork 12 mute and a switch double cork 14 mute.
“I’m pretty happy right now,” said PK after the big win. “I didn’t expect that at all…. Got my first podium in a while, and it’s here at JOI, where I pretty much got my first [ever] podium, it’s perfect.” PK continued, “I think we’re going a little crazy tonight.”
Henrik Harlaut earned his second place finish with stunt including a nose butter double cork 10 safety, nose butter double cork 12 tail and a double cork 7 safety. Espen Bergh skied his way to the third place spot with a switch double cork 14 mute and a double cork 12 mute.
Noteworthy performances also came from Luca Tribondeau, who stomped a triple cork 14 mute; Vincent Gagnier, with a double 10 octo; Jossi Wells, with a double 900 safety, both forward and switch; Jacob Wester, who sent a solid double 12 safety to reverse tail; Elias Ambühl with a double cork 12 tail and Joss Christensen, with a double 12 japical.
