Follow the Forecast. It Seems to Pay Off!

The Blank Collective, an athlete-driven film company lead by Stan Rey and Alexi Godbout, is leading the wave when it comes to ski movies produced and made by skiers, for skiers. With these two legends at the helm, Blank Collective clearly knows what, and how, they like to shoot, a focus on documenting some of the world’s best skiers as they tear through chin-deep snow, approaching Mach 10 while bombing down some tenacious lines.

Featuring incredible shots at stunning locations, “Follow the Forecast” is one hell of tour around the west coast of North America, and the skiing it has to offer. Roaming from Mt. Baker to Whistler Blackcomb, the powder highway resorts to Mt. Shuksan, and seemingly everywhere in between, this group traveled many, many miles last winter in search of the deepest snow they could find.

This incredible collection of skiers, which includes Seeking Nirvana athlete and long-time BC ripper Riley Leboe, young guns Jordy Kinder and Sam Kuch, not-as-young legends Sage Cattabriga-Alosa and Cody Townsend, and a plethora of other talents, travels far and wide doing just as the title suggests—and, boy, does it seem to pay off. With immaculate camping sites and heli-catered lines, this crew seems to have found and conquered everything possible, in the best conditions.

With ski films being more and more athlete driven, it’s great to see two giants of the sport—Stan and Alexi—taking the film production into their own hands and giving it the direction they desire. Let this project fuel your stoke for packing up the car, following your trusted weather advisor and taking that long desired trip this winter to wherever the snow can be found.
