Nick Woodman, founder and CEO of the action camera behemoth GoPro, announced yesterday that his company will be releasing a consumer quadcopter in the first half of 2016. The announcement came at the second annual Code Conference, where Woodman also revealed his company’s plans to launch a “six-camera spherical array” for shooting virtual reality footage.
With the increase in availability of consumer drones and the popularity of GoPro cameras on such devices, the announcement doesn’t come as a surprise. We’ll be following the story closely and providing updates on freeskier.com.
