Giray Dadali has never been one to hog the spotlight. He recently announced that his long-awaited movie, “Of The Black Sea,” will be showing at premiers in both Salt Lake and Park City, Utah, alongside other projects from local skiers. While Dadali’s film, which recently took home the award for Best Storytelling at the International Freeski Film Festival (iF3), is well worth the price of admission on its own, the additional projects below make these events pretty unbeatable.
Both premieres will include screenings of:
“Of The Black Sea” – Giray Dadali and Hennie Van Jaarsveld
“ZORRO” – Wiley Miller
“Transmission” – Segments from Alex Jundstrom and Dillon Flinders
“Kindred” – Devin Logan & Caroline Claire
“proof” – Colby Stevenson
Plus, there will be chances to win incredible raffle prizes because, let’s be honest, what kind of ski movie premiere is complete without a raffle?
“‘Of The Black Sea’ is a powerful exploration of heritage by breaking down cultural barriers and fostering understanding of what it means to be Turkish,” said the film’s creators. The film follows Dadali’s March 2023 voyage to his ancestral stomping grounds in Turkey. Venturing high into the 12,000-foot peaks that sit above the Black Sea, Jaarsveld and Dadali captured every aspect of their journey, delivering a mesmerizing look at a side of Turkey many never knew existed.
