Springtime in Mammoth is hard to beat. The blue skies and pearly white Sierra Nevada Mountains can make any crazy human sane again. The California dream shines brightly as the pink rails of Mammoth Unbound are a beacon to freeskiers everywhere. Luckily, the Variance crew was on site with a camera in hand, while cruising the masterpiece meticulously maintained by the fine folks at Mammoth Unbound.
With a few days to spare before Level 1’s SuperUnkown 21, Aaron Durlester, Lucas Blanch, Luca Harrington and Campbell Burrows took to the south and main parks at Mammoth, leaving no feature unturned. Filmed by Jack Benziger, “DENiM” delivers the springtime flair we’re always looking for. If Variance wasn’t already on your radar, it should be. Keep an eye out for their full project coming this fall.
From Director Jack Benziger –
“The variance crew linked up in Mammoth before Level 1 SuperUnknown 21 for some laps in south park and main park. While working on a full project from this winter, it is fun to get the crew out for some chairlift laps when we can squeeze it in, and we are all together in the same place. I have tried to take a more light-hearted, creative approach to making these crew parks this season. Making them with a dad cam (Canon HF g40) allows me to take filming a little less seriously and experiment with different styles than what I am used to.”
