The Olympus Pro Photographer Showdown (PPS) is one of the most highly anticipated segments of the annual World Ski & Snowboard Festival (WSSF) in Whistler, BC. This year, in celebration of the 20th annual WSSF, event organizers modified the selection process. Historically, photogs would present formal submissions in the hopes of being selected as contestants. This time around, the WSSF staffers handpicked and invited five photographers: Brian Gaberman, Mattias Fredriksson, Todd Glaser, Reuben Krabbe and Lorenz Holder.
Each produced a slideshow, and between the five of ’em their images showcase predominantly skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, surfing, skateboarding and mind-boggling scenics.
Local ski and mountain bike photographer, Reuben Krabbe, took home the People’s Choice Award this year, earning him a cool $1,000. Lorenz Holder earned Best In Show honors and the $10,000 grand prize that goes hand-in-hand. His award-winning slideshow is posted here for your viewing pleasure.
