Halfpipe skiing made its Olympic debut last week, and amidst the inaugural contests, it was hard not to think about the halfpipe pioneers who helped push the sport to new heights, eventually succeeding in convincing the International Olympic Committee to include it in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Among those pioneers was the late, great CR Johnson. Last fall, 4FRNT Skis (CR’s ski sponsor), released a film documenting CR’s life, titled CRJ – The Chronicle of a Freeskiing Icon. 4FRNT has since made the movie available in its entirety, online.
