On Movie Monday, FREESKIER brings you free movies from the wide world of skiing. With a mix of old and new, this is where you can find your weekly dose of freeski history, adrenaline and cinema mastery all in one.

Ski movies with a plot do not always hit. This one does. “Days of My Youth” is a legendary film that embodies the quintessential long-form ski film. It’s got emotional ties, engaging storytelling (not too much, not too little), wise lessons and of course, incredible skiing.

There are numerous reasons why this movie is a success. We could talk about the dedicated team at Matchstick Productions who worked tirelessly for two years to make this project a reality. Or we could look at the lineup of skiers which features many names that, almost 10 years later, are considered absolute legends of freeskiing. And let’s be honest, the resort segment at Snowbird, Revelstoke and Crested Butte delivered more hype and relatability than almost anything at the time.

We saw Sander Hadley break onto the scene thanks to his insane POV edits. Cody Townsend skied perhaps the most viral line of all time. Markus Eder put on the performance of a lifetime throughout nearly the entirety of the movie. The list goes on and on. Instead of giving our take, we’ll let you watch it for yourself. Hit the link below to head over to the MSP Films Vault and watch “Days of My Youth” for free today. This is one classic you shouldn’t skip.

Filmed over two years using state of the art techniques and technologies, this movie offers a unique glimpse into the journey of self-discovery that every skier experiences – exploring the globe and escaping to the playground of the mountains. Traveling worldwide, MSP’s team has looked through the lens in a new way to capture moments that redefine what is possible on skis.

The film exposes the joys and struggles associated with a lifetime built around skiing, all while narrated to the prolific readings of Alan Watts alongside profound insights from an intimate cast of skiing’s modern day superstars. “DAYS OF MY YOUTH” reminds every viewer of their first time on skis, and reinforces that the experience will continue to keep you young for a lifetime.

Starring: Richard Permin, Michelle Parker, Mark Abma, Bobby Brown, James Heim, Cody Townsend, Markus Eder, Banks Gilberti, Sam Anthamatten, and Sander Hadley. Featuring the legendary Bobbie Burns.
