At SLVSH Cup Snowmass, Eight of Freeskiing’s Best will Battle it out for a Spot in X Games Knuckle Huck

The time for a brand new SLVSH Cup… has arrived! In beautiful Snowmass, Colorado, the latest edition of SLVSH Cup will be going down this week. The bracket was recently drawn by the one and only James Woodsy, and the standing matchups are top of the line. Eight of the best freeskiers on the planet are going to compete for glory, with the final champion earning a cash prize as well as a spot at this year’s X Games Knuckle Huck, one of the most anticipated new(ish) events in skiing.

In no particular order, this year’s roster will consist of Tormod Frostad, Cody LaPlante, Elias Syrjä, Kuura Koivisto, Tristan Feinberg, Ferdinand Dahl, Sam Zahner and Matěj Švancer. It’s a stacked group with no clear winner, no matter how you slice it. There’s certainly a mish-mash of styles throughout, and as we’ve seen before, the rider who goes the biggest isn’t always the one who walks away with the win. Creativity, technique and style bring dubs in SLVSH.

For those who might not know, Snowmass holds one of the better park setups around. It might not have the allure of Mammoth Unbound or Breck’s infamous Park Lane back in the day, but Snowmass continuously builds fantastic setups with creative features that give riders plenty of options and freedom. SLVSH has been teasing the current setup on their Instagram, with a brief clip of Kuura lacing up a quad kink as well as photos featuring Matěj, Elias, Tormod and Tristian.

Keep your eyes peeled for games dropping on the X Games YouTube page starting Wednesday, 1/17.
