The Jackson Hole Exposed photo competition is one of the big highlights of the annual Arc’teryx Backcountry Academy. The second edition of the competition featured six photographers, Sofia Jaramillo, Aaron Blatt, Trevor Lyden, Jared Spieker, Elise Sterck and Greg Von Doersten, who each had three days to shoot and edit a three to five-minute slideshow showcasing the essence of backcountry shredding in and around Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
As luck would have it, the six talented sharpshooters—ranging from industry legends to up-and-comers—encountered the storm of the season during their shooting window, which made for some downright incredible imagery. The panel of judges certainly had their work cut out for them following the viewing period, but determined that Aaron Blatt’s slideshow, featuring Michelle Parker and Mark Carter, truly captured the wild west, cowboy atmosphere of Jackson Hole. Elise Sterck would take home second place and Greg Von Doersten third.
