You may have noticed over the last year that Nick Goepper has made a career switch of sorts. One of the most respected freestyle skiers to date, he came out of a brief retirement to announce his plan of making the 2026 U.S. Men’s Olympic Halfpipe Team. At 30 years of age, Goepper is certainly one of the oldest skiers to switch disciplines like this at such a high level of competition. But never forget, we’re dealing with one of the greatest. Skiers. Ever.
In pursuit of Olympic halfpipe glory, Goepper has built a massive training compound in the Nevada desert to continue the grind during the off season. Built with friends, hard work and probably copious amounts of sunscreen, this quarter-pipe-to-airbag rig is the stuff of legend. Just how big is it? Goepper shared a few images with FREESKIER that help to put it into perspective… in less than normal measurements. Check out the height comparison below, and be sure to stay tuned as we’re going to be diving Goepper’s journey in full detail this fall.
