Following on the heels of the inaugural X Games Real Ski Backcountry contest, ESPN has launched Real Women—a contest in which eight of the world’s most rippin’est action sports females submit 75-second video clips for a shot at X Games hardware. Among the eight: Skiing’s own Michelle Parker and Ingrid Backstrom.
The videos will be judged by a panel of X Games judges, but a Fan Favorite award will also be dished out—based on the popular vote. The results will be announced in conjunction with X Games Barcelona. To date, Ingrid trails Maya Gabeira (professional big wave surfer from Brazil) 49% to 51% while Michelle trails snowboarder Jess Kimura 46% to 54%. With a little help from skiers around the globe, those tables can turn.
Round 1 of voting will be open through May 6. Second round voting will be open May 7-13, and the final round of voting will go May 14-19. Watch the videos and cast your votes now, and do skiing proud!
