The Candide Invitational Day 4

The Candide Invitational Day 4

Day 4 here in La Clusaz brought more snow, fog, a tiny bit of sunshine and a bit more intense riding. Due to the awesome snow conditions elsewhere on the mountain and the fog just toying with our visibility on the course, not too many riders braved the course today.

Loic Collomb-Patton and some others got a small session going on the gap jump, while Laurent Favre, Richard Permin and a couple others stalled on top of the snow tower on the log jib feature. With such slow in run speeds, it was nearly impossible for riders to throw down.

However Sammy Carlson and Joe Schuster stepped up to the very large A-frame rail, which had been previously untouched. With both guys greasing it normally, to gapping the flat, and eventually, both guys nailed the 360 switch-up over the gap. Sammy also took it up another notch and did a 540 switch-up over the gap. Unfortunately, Joe took a nasty spill after the rail and has seemingly broken his collarbone. Best of luck to Joe on his recovery, as he killed it everyday this week at Candide’s event.

Although the skiing is done for the day, the parties and the gatherings don’t stop, so stop back for more coverage of The Candide Invitational 6.
