Alex Ferreira Wins X Games Superpipe Gold in Hometown of Aspen

Hometown hero Alex Ferreira was the star of the night in the 2019 X Games superpipe final in Aspen, Colorado. The 24-year-old Aspen native finally added X Games gold to his trophy case, after grabbing two silver medals and two bronze medals in X Games of years past, as well as the silver medal in the pipe at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

Ferreira’s 92.66 on his final run was enough to hold off David Wise, who took gold in Pyeongchang and has four X Games gold medals in the pipe since 2012. Ferreira also held off Nico Porteous, who scored a 89.00 to grab bronze in his X Games debut.
