Hometown hero Alex Ferreira was the star of the night in the 2019 X Games superpipe final in Aspen, Colorado. The 24-year-old Aspen native finally added X Games gold to his trophy case, after grabbing two silver medals and two bronze medals in X Games of years past, as well as the silver medal in the pipe at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
Ferreira, cappin’ tail. Photo: Matt PowerFerreira’s 92.66 on his final run was enough to hold off David Wise, who took gold in Pyeongchang and has four X Games gold medals in the pipe since 2012. Ferreira also held off Nico Porteous, who scored a 89.00 to grab bronze in his X Games debut.
