Alright you Powderhounds – the wait is OVER!!!

Starting this morning at 9:00am Loveland Ski Area will be the first ski area in North America to open for the 2009-2010 ski season. This is the earliest opening day at Loveland Ski Area in 40 years – and we couldn’t be more excited. For the first turns of the season, skiers and snowboarders will have access to a top-to-bottom run consisting of 1,000 vertical feet via Chair 1. The trails Catwalk, Mambo and Homerun make up this opening day run which is over a mile in length. When this news came in to the Ski Country office’s yesterday an ‘Emergency Half-Day’ was declared so everyone could go home and tune up their gear for the first turns of the season. Call in sick, take a personal day, or just play hooky – but whatever you do just get up to Loveland and revel in the fact that Winter has officially arrived!
