Stephen Smith goes for the gold.

Days three and four were much like the first two here at the 2011 Freeskier Park Ski Test in Breckenridge, CO: Sun, fun, bbqs and heaps of next years park skis. For the past four days our tireless ski testers have run the skis through the gauntlet. Only instead of medieval dungeons, our gauntlet consists of jumps, rails, boxes, taps and anything else the Breckridge Terrain Parks can muster up.

By cycling in new skis and cycling out the thoroughly tested ones, our testers arrive each day with a multitude of skis to hammer on. It's like waking to a new ski quiver every day, pretty much every park skiers dream. Even in the face of racks full of new skis to work through, our testers, undaunted, shred each one until it has been exhaustively tested and scored.

Which skis do I choose this time?

Our park test also coincided with Breck's first "5 Til 5," a Thursday's-only event in April in which Chair 5 (the terrain park chair) stays open until 5 PM. In addition, Breck throws down for a DJ, free food and some rail jams to get everyone stoked. We didn't have to tell our testers twice.

On a side note, a big thanks goes out to Mother Nature. Across the board, every forecast we checked predicted clouds and precipitation the past two days. But surprisingly, the higher ups called in two more days of sunshine and less wind. Perfect conditions for testing.

Even with four grand days in the rear view mirror, the 2011 Park Ski Test still has one more sun-filled (hopefully) day in which to get on next year's sticks. In the mean time, check out today's gallery. Stay tuned for more coverage and product preview videos in the coming days.
