Women’s halfpipe star Jen Hudak suffered a major setback in her goal to qualify for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, sustaining a torn meniscus and partially torn ACL during Wednesday’s Dew Tour pipe qualifiers.
“This wasn’t where I had planned to be at this point,” Hudak told NBC Sports’ Nick Zaccardi. “But I want to ensure that I’ve done everything possible to be a part of the dream I’ve had for over a decade. It’s important for me to set an example to others in my sport that you never give up on yourself. I’m approaching this optimistically but also understanding the realities.”
Freeskier hopes for the best in Hudak’s recovery, and hopes to see her back in the pipe soon.
