Big mountain ripper, seasoned mountain guide, and Alaska heli-skiing badass Dean Cummings is venturing from AK to Colorado this month to present his renowned Steep Life Protocols avalanche education seminar. Throughout January, Cummings will be making four stops throughout The Centennial State, spreading his knowledge and promoting the importance of backcountry awareness.
Steep Life Protocols is a terrain management system that Cummings has developed in an effort to guide more safely and efficiently in Alaska’s burly Chugach mountain range. Cummings encourages all skiers, mountain professionals and other backcountry aficionados to implement the Steep Life Protocols to reduce risk and create awareness when accessing backcountry terrain.
