If you’ve ever watched a bad Phil Casabon project, wake up because you’re dreaming. It’s not real. “Activity” is yet another visual milestone in Phil’s archive of excellence. With incredible camera work from Brady Perron and Raph Sevigny, this project flows from location to location, with shot after shot falling right into place. The transitions blend from smooth to quick cuts, as each one is pulled off flawlessly. This might be one of the best street projects we see all year.
Joined by an outstanding cast of riders, we begin at the one and only Kimbo Sessions. Henrik Harlaut, Quinn Wolferman, Daniel Bacher and Kim Boberg are shown here with Phil (AKA B-Dog) pulling off some of the most audacious knuckle-hucks we’ve ever seen. In the snow-capped rolling hills of Vermont, Armada OG Mike Hornbeck, Liam Downey and Cole Gibson chime in, showing that it’s not where you ski but how you ski it. This crew absolutely shines on features and terrain like this. True creative masters. Finally, it’s off to Phil’s home city of Shawinigan, Québec. Along with Henrik and Kimbo, Phil picks apart the features he’s seen for years, making these challenging rails, step-downs and wall rides look easy.
Few other skiers could bring together this level of talent. Phil is a staple of freeskiing as we know it today. Along with riders like Hornbeck, Harlaut, Kimbo and others, he blends generational talent and style to create an art form that will no doubt inspire skiers of all walks for years to come. Thanks to Phil, Brady, Raph and everyone who had a hand in this project.
