Eric Zerrenner joins the AFP Executive Committee as Executive Director

Press Release: Boulder, Colo. December 6, 2011- The Association of Freeskiing Professionals (www.afpworldtour.com) is excited to welcome Eric Zerrenner as our new Executive Director. Zerrenner has over 18 years of experience in marketing, sales and business development, within and beyond the ski industry.  Highly skilled in marketing both B2B and B2C products, Zerrenner has a knack for business opportunity, strategic brand planning and analyzing current and future trends. Prior to working for the AFP, Zerrenner was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Understand.com, a global provider of patient education software.

"I am honored to join the AFP and continue the mission of progressing the sport while maintaining its authenticity, creativity and culture,” said Zerrenner. “The AFP founders have worked hard and accomplished a lot in a short time, demonstrated by athlete and industry support, and the global acceptance of the AFP World Ranking System, judging clinics and the AFP World Tour. As we approach the Olympics and beyond, the next few years will be crucial in the movement of freeskiing.  I am excited about that challenge and I look forward to working with the athletes, industry leaders, our partners and the AFP Board in representing our sport and our athletes to the world."

“Some of you may know Z, as he is more widely known, from his days working in the industry at K2. Since then he has gone on to work at some of the largest ad agencies in the US, co-founded a security software company, and continued to work for the X Games keeping his passion for skiing stoked,” said AFP Vice President, Michael Spencer. “All of us on the Executive Committee cannot be more excited to have someone at this caliber working on the day to day direction and operation that we as volunteers have been doing for the better part of 4 years in between our real jobs. With that said please feel free to reach out to Z and say hello and give him or any of us any feed back.”
