Auction For Action

Auction For Action

FREESKIER’s Auction For Action is putting the ‘FUN’ back in fundraiser with over $40,000 (update!) worth of brand new ski equipment and experiences on the auction block and 100 percent of proceeds going to GlobalGiving’s Coronavirus Relief Fund. We understand that many of you are looking for a way to give back during these unprecedented times—now is your chance to do that from the comfort of your own home.

On Monday morning, April 20, we’ll open up the Auction For Action, a silent, online auction with more than 100 items up for grabs, including skis, outerwear kits, goggles, sunglasses, lift tickets, hotel stays, warm-weather gear and even heli time—that’s right, heli-skiing. We’ll keep the auction open until Friday, April 24, at which point the highest bidders will take home the goods.

While there are myriad causes we could support with the funds raised, we believe that the people on the front lines of this pandemic need the most support and, to that end, we’ll be donating all proceeds from this auction to GlobalGiving. Funds raised will help stop the virus’ spread and give communities on the front lines of the crisis the resources they need to act quickly and protect the most vulnerable.

Donations will go toward:

Sending doctors, nurses and other front line responders to communities in need

Getting masks, ventilators, and other lifesaving medical supplies to hospitals and clinics

Delivering essential items to families and elders in quarantined cities and refugee camps

Feeding children that rely on school meals as their only source of nutrition

Supporting hygiene awareness efforts

The bidding will begin on Monday, April 20th at 9:00AM MDT.

The auction will close on Friday, April 24th at 4:00PM MDT.

Auction For Action is a silent, online auction: https://frsk.me/AuctionForAction

First, visit the Auction For Action website to see every product that is available for bidding. Once you’re ready to place a bid, simply register with a credit card and get to shopping. Much like EBay, you’ll place a simple bid or set the maximum price that you’re comfortable paying and allow the automated system to bid up to the set value on your behalf. When the auction closes on Friday afternoon, the highest bidder will be the winner and their credit card will be charged for the item. That money will then be donated directly to GlobalGiving.

Regarding security, our auction software provider adheres to all PCI standards and leverages the latest technology to protect payment data. All payment data is encrypted and passed directly to third party PCI compliant partners for the safest possible transfer using “hosted fields” technology.

Fresh gear, full outerwear kits, skis, goggles, heli-skiing packages, fine art photography and more are all up for grabs via FREESKIER’s Auction For Action. Products that usually sell for hundreds or thousands of dollars are marked down to a fraction of their cost for starting bids, and all of the proceeds go directly to GlobalGiving. It’s an easy one-two punch: You’ll be sliding into some new gear and the highest bids will be donations toward Coronavirus relief efforts.

Two important things to note about shipping are: 1) Donors will be providing the shipping but items can only be shipped to a US or Canadian address and 2) Some items will be shipped immediately but others will be delayed. We’re humbled by the outpouring of donations that we’ve received and are excited to get them all out to you. That being said, a lot of the warehouses and shipping departments are on hold for a few weeks as we all hunker down during these uncertain times, so we do ask for your patience. Think of it as a present to your future self.
