Icelantic can now call itself a Certified B Corporation

Colorado-based Icelantic Skis just became the second USA-based ski manufacturer to earn the esteemed certification. As a Certified B Corporation, Icelantic is committed to using its business for good.

Michelle Parker joins Bode Miller and Chris Davenport at Peak Skis 

The professional skier who is known for slaying big Alaskan lines has joined Bode Miller at his high-performance ski company, Peak Skis. Parker expresses interest and excitement in being a part of the ski design process from start to finish.

Snowbird moves up opening day to November 18

Snowbird originally planned for a November 30 opening day, but that prediction was made before the generous early-season storms that blessed the majority of the west the last couple weeks. The ski area now plans to open on November 18, the same day as Alta Ski Area. 

Dean Cummings found not guilty of murder 

In the 90s to the early 2000s, Dean Cummings was known for his extreme skiing all over Alaska but in recent years has made headlines for a 2020 murder charge. This week, Cummings was found not guilty and released from jail.

Eldora Mountain opens for the 2022-23 season 

Just 20 miles west of Boulder, Eldora is the perfect mountain for a quick day of skiing. Why spend hours in traffic this early in the season? Eldora’s got plenty of free parking and a Woodward park. 

Icelantic announces winter concert lineup 

Normally at Red Rocks, Icelantic’s annual winter concert will continue this year but at the Mission Ballroom while the iconic music venue undergoes construction. Featuring Alison Wonderland,Channel Tres, Sam Blacky, HOUSEWIFE and Jacoby it’s going to be a guaranteed good time at Icelantic’s Winter Mission 2023.

Stepping Out’ now available on Salomon TV

Featuring Salomon athletes Lani Bruntz, Mali Noyes and Maddie Crowell, these three skiers set out to explore the Alaska Range. Serving as their own guides, this story is one of adventure, challenge and reimagined success. 

Sammy Carlson is back with ‘Yup’ 

Sammy C himself is back with another backcountry banger. ‘Yup’ takes place in some of the most remote regions of Alaska and British Columbia and the skiing icon delivers enough pow slashing and pillow popping to satiate the hungriest souls. 

MSP’s ‘Anywhere From Here’ available for digital download 

Matchstick Productions’ annual ski film is now available online as digital download directly from the company’s site. ‘Anywhere From Here’ features a star-studded cast, including Eric ‘Hoji’ Hjorleifson, Sam Kuch, Caite Zeliff, Tonje Kvivik,, Markus Eder, Emily Childs, Logan Pehota, and more.  

Nikolai Schirmer continues on his YouTube roll with ‘SKAMTINDEN’

The Norwegian pro-skier is at it yet again with another YouTube upload this week. In ‘SKAMTINDEN,’ Schirmer shows fellow Norwegian pro skier, Oystein Braaten, the steep skiing ropes and other vets in the group make near-fatal mistakes. 

The North Face Presents: Beyond the Summit 

North Face team athlete Kit DesLauriers is most known for skiing the world’s seven tallest summits but the World Champion pro skier is on a quest to go beyond herself. ‘Beyond the Summit’ follows DesLauriers and crew as they make a ski expedition an important science experiment in the Alaskan arctic.

Cody Townsend, Greg Hill and Emma Patterson seek out the Uber Tour in line 39 of The FIFTY

The Uber Tour is a bit of an elusive beast. It’s listed in the book, The Fifty Classic Ski Descents in North America, but when Townsend starts asking around the town of Revelstoke about it, no one seems to know what he’s talking about. For line 39 of 50, Townsend and Salomon teammates Greg Hill and Emma Patterson set out for the unknown.
