Contenders: Get to know 26 of the top freeskiers competing in Sochi

At 27, Håtveit is on the older side of the spectrum. He’s married and has a baby boy, and when he wants to train, all he has to do is go out to his backyard where he built and maintains his very own terrain park—snowcat and all. The easy-access to these impressive stomping grounds has yielded a consistency in his riding, which in turn has paid off with a number of podium finishes, including slopestyle bronze medals at Winter X and Euro X in 2012. Looking back to 2008, Håtveit took home gold at Winter X Games in Aspen; and this past January, after announcing this would be his final season of competition, Andreas added another X Games medal (bronze) to his collection. This most recent performance suggests daddy duties haven’t hindered “Dre’s” incredible work ethic, so we expect him to put on a show in Sochi, without a doubt.
