Snowmaking Update – Time to Fire up the Guns!

You may have noticed the countdown to snowmaking that was featured on our homepage has been removed. Unfortunately the weather conditions were not in our favor to start last week as we had hoped, but all the snow guns are set up and ready to start blasting. The good news is that a cold front and storm system moving into the area let us fire up the guns Monday night! All of us here at Loveland are excited, as I’m sure you are, so keep those fingers crossed in hopes that the temps stay cold.

This season, a crew from New Zealand will once again assist the Loveland Snowmaking Team in making tons of quality snow for opening day. These snowmaking experts follow winter around the globe doing what they do best. No need to worry about rocks or stumps at Loveland on opening day. We open with a minimum base of 18 inches and side-to-side, top to bottom coverage on our 1,000 vertical foot run.

Snowmaking is a cold, tough job, but you can watch the progress from the comfort of your home or office by visiting our Snowmaking Status webpage. We will update this page as often as possible to keep you in the know. Keep an eye on our web cams as well to see when it snows!
