IF3 kicked off in style last night with the Salomon “Ten Years of Ten-Eighty” Party at the ultra chic Club LaMouche in downtown Montreal. JF Cusson was on hand with his original pair of skis he won the US Open with 10 years ago. Also on hand was the Godfather himself, the original 1080 pioneer, Mike Douglas, along with newbie — in comparisson — Salomon team members Sammy Carlson, Matt Walker, Mike Henitiuk, Charles Gagnier, John Symms, Nick Martini and Alexis Godbout.
The history of the ski was on display throughout the club with 1080 skis from each year under the lights. Furthermore, scantily clad girls with full body paint in the design of the current Suspect and Mai Tai as well as the original yellow and black 1080s were running around dancing with the party-goers.
Tanner and Iberg, fresh off their Boulder premiere of The Massive, were there as well throwing down as well as original Canadian Airforce, 1080 pioneer, JP Auclair. At one point, the Salomon ski boots that were on display ended up on the feet of John Symms and JP Auclair and a limbo showdown occurred under a half of a pair of the original 1080.
The party will no doubt continue tonight after multiple movie screenings headlined by The Massive and Such is Life by Rage Films. The theme for the party tonight is Reggae without Cali P, unfortunately, as he is unable to attend due to a complication with his passport.
