Road Trippin’ To Dew, Day 2: Ski Las Vegas and bad weather

Road Trippin’ To Dew, Day 2: Ski Las Vegas and bad weather

The first Freeskier Magazine road trip of the season woke up to a beautiful morning in Vegas. And what better way to shake off that Vegas fatigue than to go take some runs at the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort

Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard

Feeling the effects of the lack of snow like the rest of the country, LVSSR as still pretty damn good. About a 30 min drive from the city (easily accomplished with our caravan of new Toyotas) , the mountain was fun with a bunch of rails and boxes than Cody and Tommy systematically destroyed. Tommy was even reprimanded for trying to “ski and extreme line” that was deemed unsafe by the ski patrol. As we pack up the cars to roll out to aspen, we can’t help but think that Vegas is a pretty darn good little mountain.

The Drive to Aspen

So after our ski high, we decided to go all out and drive to Aspen, where it’s reportedly dumping. But our hopes of an Aspen arrival were dashed as we hit a killer snowstorm in Southeastern Utah derailed out time frame. Worst driving conditions ever. So bad, that the crew is currently in Grand Junction, CO waiting for the weather to dissipate. Stay tuned for episode 3 and what Aspen will finally have in store.

Special thanks to the crew at Ski Las Vegas! If you’re ever gambling / partying in Vegas and want to bang out some turns, head on up! [https://www.skilasvegas.com/winter/index.html www.skilasvegas.com]
