You’ve probably heard of the organization Protect our Winters (POW) and if you haven’t, now is definitely the time to get acquainted. Founded by professional snowboarder, Jeremy Jones, POW is a large group of athletes, outdoor diehards and industry professionals focused on leading the charge towards preserving our climate for winter and beyond. Part of POW’s latest efforts is the development of its sister non-profit organization, the POW Action Fund.
POW Action Fund works to make action on climate change a top policy priority by supporting elected officials who defend the science behind human-caused climate change and are consistently striving to make solutions a top-of-mind matter. POW Action Fund connects you–the everyday skier, snowboarder, hiker, biker, runner, fisher–with these officials and the policies they represent. Not feeling confident in your political jargon? No worries, while you’re hitting the slopes POW Action Fund will do all the homework for you, so when you sit down for après ski you’ll have all of the information you need to participate and take action.
Reversing the effects of climate change will take a collective effort, and that begins at the local level with efforts from folks like you.
