The North American Open Practice Floodgates Are Open

The North American Open Practice Floodgates Are Open

After more maintenance to the jump last night by Jon Olsson, the North American Slopestyle course and halfpipe opened today here at the Breckenridge Terrain Park. The park was closed to the general public, giving the competitors plenty of opportunities to ride the perfectly manicured course before qualifiers tomorrow. And what is the general consensus of the park condition today? Awesome. Perfect. Fun. Pros and ams alike have been shredding all day, under the partly cloudy Colorado skies. Tech rails, double flips, big spins, stylish rodeos and minimal spills we’re the order of the day.

The stage is set for qualifiers to go off, with more than 150 competitors registered and ready to go. Whether or not the weather decides to cooperate tomorrow, the kids are stoked and ready to show Jon and Simon and company what they’ve got, in hopes of making one of the coveted 20 qualifying spots.

Stay tuned tomorrow for coverage of the qualifiers… who made it, what they did, and how this event shapes up in Breckenridge all weekend.
