Liberty Skis Annual Suaree

Liberty Skis Annual Suaree

Every March, the folks at Liberty skis get together with their friends, sponsored riders and business partners for a night of fun, food, music and drinks in order to thank everyone for their hard work over the past year and to reveal next years goods.

This year, that shin-dig took place at the Colorado Ski History Museum at Vail, a fitting place for this young and core company seeing how they themselves are making history in the ski industry. “Liberty is a different approach to a ski company.” According to Dan Chalfant, President and CEO of Liberty. This shows with the innovative materials they use in ski construction like bamboo, UHMW sidewalls and die cut bases.

Liberty team riders were such as Phil Larose, Phil Belanger and Ryan Spinks were in attendance, mingling through the crowd and telling their story on what they did to the 08-09 line to enhance ride quality, durability and to push Liberty’s skis to the next level.

The crowd cut loose thanks to the ample amounts of free booze and live band. It was really sweet to poke around the Colorado Ski History Museum and see how far ski construction has come . It was quite the contrast to see wooden skis and leather boots up against class leading skis like the Liberty Helix.

Stay tuned to Freeskier.com this week for our video interviews with Phil Larose, Phil Belanger and the entire Liberty crew.
