Whistler Blackcomb put together an Industry House for all us ski and snowboard mag people to hang out during the biggest event in the world: the Olympics.
All the magazines that you love to read are here, including Freeskier and Snowboard, and we’ve been given the royal treatment. Last night, that treatment brought us to the Bearfoot Bistro, thanks to Tourism BC. If you’ve never heard of this place, you’re probably like us: too poor to go there on a weekly basis. It’s five-star, five-course, wine-pairing… the whole 9. Not going to lie, this isn’t what we at Freeskier are used to.
Bearfoot is famous for its wine cellar, which boasts a massive collection of champagne as well. Check out the photos to see how insane it is. And that photo is only half the cellar. The owner, Andre, is a legend. He is a master saberer, the act of opening a bottle of champagne with a sword. Freeskier founder Brad Fayfield got to give it a try… hell of a party trick.
This place is so legit, the owner of Kettle One vodka was eating a couple tables over and DJ Benny Benassi came in as we left. If you want the best in Whistler, here it is.
After Bearfoot we headed to the GLC where Queen Latifa was partying. What a night.
We’re off to the Fairmont tonight for more VIP treatment. We’re just hoping the fine people at Whistler Blackcomb don’t discover that we’re actually dirt bags. Wish us luck!
