Just like that, this year’s #FREESKIERFEST party tour is a wrap. And what a tour it was. After partying in ski towns across Colorado, we threw one final bash on Friday, May 1st in our hometown of Boulder.
The venue was Shine Restaurant and Gathering Place, located on Boulder’s iconic Pearl Street. The night kicked off with drinks and pleasantries in the building’s restaurant area, with beats provided by local DJ Mr. Gettdowne. At 10:30 p.m., Colorado’s premier 80s coverband—The Goonies—took the stage in front of a packed audience. The group rocked for the rest of the night with plenty of sing-along classics. (My favorite? Iron Maiden’s “Run To The Hills”)
All-in-all, it was a night for the books. Headbanging, neon attire, ski giveaways (thanks Head) and Shine’s magical potions made for one hell of a shindig. Let’s do it again next winter.
