RMU’s all-new, concept ski, the SR126 Butterknife, was drawn from inspiration by RMU athlete Wiley Miller to float and surf through deep snow. As a rough sketch, the Butterknife started as a weird shape… short and wide, allowing the rider to float through trees in low-angle, bottomless powder, and its shape of the backbone of how it rides. Forgoing data points, how the effective edge… blah, blah, blah, this ski is meant to make the rider feel all the right things. Its oversized shovel comes up to plane quickly, smears anything soft and, with an asymmetrical side-cut, it slips and butters for effortless schussing. Drawn in Montana, designed and prototyped in Colorado, and manufactured in RMU’s hydroelectric ski factory in Sweden… the SR126 Butterknife designed by Wiley Miller will finally be up for grabs come fall.
