Stöckli’s Stormrider 95 is a masterpiece of Swiss engineering, born from nearly a century of downhill racing expertise. A paulownia and Titanal core provides extreme torsional rigidity and vibration-damping to create a stable platform with incredible responsiveness. Unlike most skis, the 95’s Titanal also doubles as a topsheet, enhancing durability and longevity while giving the ski a slick aesthetic. Designed to dominate groomers, this ski offers top-notch energy transmission and precision across a variety of turn shapes—from short to long radius. This is complemented by a directional shape that seamlessly initiates carves.
The wide tip and skinny tail work well in tandem as you blast through crud, and the tail naturally falls in behind. If you’re someone who spends all their time pointed forward, this ski will reward you with effortless turn initiation and great energy retention. As one tester described after arcing turns all over Vail, “I had feared they would be too stiff but was pleasantly surprised by its quick attitude and rebound capabilities. They are like the Vin Diesel of skis—fast and furious.” The Stormrider 95 can’t be contained to just the groomers as Stöckli has added a lightweight polymer to the tail, giving the ski some added forgiveness and turn initiation in inconsistent off-piste conditions. At 95 mm underfoot, the Stormrider 95 excels in quick edge-to-edge transitions and stability, performing well everywhere you take it. This ski demands to be skied with vigor, suited for those who push the limits of speed and tilt all over the mountain.
