Ranger 108
Fischer
$949.99
A favorite amongst Fischer’s athletes and product developers, the popular Ranger lineup returns for the 2024-25 season. One standout from this year’s quiver is the Ranger 108—a versatile ski tailor-made for an advanced big mountain skier.
“I would recommend this to any Rocky Mountain or West Coast skier who desires something in the 100-110 mm waist width range that can handle pretty much any type of day on the mountain—what a blast,” said one of our ski testers.
The ski features a calibrated Flex Cut underfoot to really optimize the flex of the ski for pow skiing. Don’t get it twisted, the Ranger 108 can also lay trenches on hard pack thanks to the beech and poplar wood core that provides stability and predictable power transfer to the edge. The wood core is aided by an ABS sandwich sidewall construction to provide a balanced flex and reliable rebound.
“If you are on the hunt for pow, yet still want the versatility to maneuver a big ski on the hard pack, this is certainly worth seeking out,” said our tester.
The shorter contact length of the ski ensures easy turn initiation with very little effort via its Freeski Rocker.
“The tip and tail just let you do whatever you’d like through bumps and trees,” said our tester. “It’s very forgiving on that tail which allows you to really whip it around bumps without any bite.”
The new Ranger 108 maintains its clean aesthetic from previous years, but has a new solid orange top sheet that makes the purple Fischer logo really pop on the tip of the ski.
