Winter on the Rocks: Top five things to bring to Red Rocks’ only winter concert

It’s almost time to gear up for Icelantic’s eighth annual Winter on the Rocks–the only mid-winter concert at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheater. Before you make your way to Colorado’s most iconic music venue on Friday, February 1, Team FREESKIER put together a list of things to bring to ensure you stay warm and have a rockin’ good time. Aside from your concert ticket and favorite puffy coat, these fives things will make the world of difference for your Winter on the Rocks experience.

1. Long Underwear

While the temperature in Morrison tends to be warmer compared to the high-country, it’s still wintertime at elevation, and since the show doesn’t even start until the sun goes down we recommend throwing a baselayer on under your party clothes. Guys, you can’t go wrong with any of le bent’s options and ladies, check out the Mauna Kea collection from Wild Rye for a baselayer cute enough to be worn on its own.

2. Winter Shoes

As fresh as you think your Yeezy’s are, they won’t protect your feet from the frozen concrete at the show. Not to mention parking lot slush and spilled beer that could ruin your precious kicks. Foresake offers a range of men’s and women’s shoes made to keep your tootsies toasty and dry and look sleek-as-hell.

3. Beanie

There’s no better place for a beanie than a winter concert. Skida has some of the warmest hats on the market with designs that rock out as hard as you do.

4. Mittens (and handwarmers)

Have your beer and hold it too with a pair of gloves or mittens. POW Gloves has a huge variety at incredible prices so you don’t have to risk frostbite for your IPA. For those with extra sensitive phalanges, handwarmers are always a good idea.

5. PHOOZY Phone Case

Aside from your extremities, the most important thing to keep from freezing up is your phone. How else are you going to get those concert videos uploaded to your story? Throw your phone in a PHOOZY and have a working device all night long, no matter how low the thermometer drops.
