The half man, half machine, Kevin Rolland put together an unbelievable, amplitude filled run on his third and final go at the 2015 Winter X Games in Aspen, CO. As one of the most successful pipe skiers of our time, Rolland constantly claims podium positions and makes other competitors shake in their boots with admiration. It is no wonder he snagged a silver medal this past weekend, all while making every fan in the crowd “ooh” and “ahh.” The average X Games viewer watches from their television set at home, or is maybe even lucky enough to hike the deck of the pipe or stand at the bottom. What is missing is what athletes like Rolland do before, during, and after these competitions.
