Vital Films releases “Insight,” an examination of the mental side of skiing

Vital Films has released “Insight”, starring Aidan Sheahan. This film, shot exclusively in Aspen/Snowmass using a remote drone, offers a new perspective on the power of your mind as an action sports athlete.

“Our goal in making this project was to inspire young athletes into a more conscious way of thinking about the sport,” says Matt Hobbs of Vital Films. “It is about bridging the gap between physical talent and the mindfulness you need to achieve those talents.”

The film shows that while athletes must push themselves physically, they must equally push themselves mentally. “If one is not mindful and centered, then it can be destructive.” says Aidan Sheahan. “Mindfulness is just stepping back and becoming an observer of our thoughts and actions, [and] it only makes sense to apply this to skiing and other action sports.”

“Action sports are a mental game. Every trick, variation and landing is generated in your mind as a vision or dream of what you want to do next.”
