Before 2015, it took 40 minutes to access Punta Helbronner—a famed ski zone on the Italian side of Mont Blanc—via the Monte Bianco gondola. But, in 2015, a new gondola was installed, dubbed the Skyway Monte Bianco, that can do it in a quarter of the time. This means hardcore skiers and alpinists can tear up the alps easier than ever before, prompting the Salomon Freeski crew to go see and ski it for themselves last winter.
