SALOMON QST 106 REVIEW — 2017

The new QST 106 can handle anything: floating the deep, trekking into the backcountry, jump-turning down the steeps or crushing turns on the groomers. A full sandwich sidewall construction makes these babies a dream on edge and a unique ingredient in the ski—a carbon fiber and flax layer—combines with a Titanal insert underfoot to keep the ski stiff and stable. If you’ve got a powder day on your hands, the ski’s rockered, tapered tip and tail ensure optimal float and maneuverability. Koroyd inserts (lightweight copolymer tubes with shock-absorbing properties) are also implemented in the tip and tail to cut tip chatter. One tester summed up the ski as, “a ripper! So smooth and lightweight for how strong and fast it is.

*Ski dimensions are for the 181.
